PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico, October 18, 2010 –
Puerto Ricans Yarleen Santiago and Dariam Acevedo capped a
successful year by claiming the women’s gold medal of
Bicentennial Beach Volleyball Cup, the tenth and final stage of
NORCECA Circuit on Sunday. It was the fifth victory of the year
for the Puerto Ricans who also won the titles at Cayman Islands,
Dominican Republic, Chiapas and San Diego. They finished on the

Volleyball complex to be erected in Haiti from donations
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, October 14, 2010 – A combined
group of U.S. institutions composed of Youth Without Borders,
Professional and Scientific Associates and Creative Tent
International are joining the NORCECA and FIVB efforts to build
an indoor volleyball complex in Haiti, the impoverished
Caribbean nation hit by a devastating earthquake in January
2010. For this purpose, all met this week at NORCECA
headquarters in Santo Domingo along with representatives from

Americans Claire D’Amore and Jennifer Zinder won
the women’s gold medal at El Salvador Beach
Volleyball Tournament, the second stop of the

D’Amore and Zinder prevailed against Cubans
Niriam Sinal and Kirenia Ballar in a tough
battle by score of 21-19, 21-17.
The bronze medal went to Puerto Ricans Yarleen
Santiago and Dariam Acevedo who beat Guatemalans
Maria Jose Orellana and Lourdes Ramirez.

Sunday’s semifinales feature Canada against
United States and Mexico against Cuba.
The Canadian pair of Martin Reader and Ray
Sewell was the first to qualify with a 2-1
(21-17, 16-21, 15-9) victory over Jamaicans

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, March 23, 2010 –Fresh
from the successful opening stage in Cayman
Islands, the 2010 NORCECA Beach Volleyball
Circuit now moves to El Salvador the smallest
but the most densely populated country in
Central America.
The action will take place next weekend on the
sands of a temporary facility located next to
the biggest shopping mall of San Salvador, the
capital of the country bordering the Pacific
Ocean.

21-17, 18-21, 15-8 claiming the men’s gold medal
of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball
Tournament, the opening leg of the 2010 NORCECA
Circuit.
Both finalists had to battle to the limit in the
semi final phase as the experienced Canadians
prevailed against compatriots Maverick Match and
Ben Saxton (11-21, 21-18, 15-10) while the
Puerto Ricans edged Jeff Moran and Ivan Mercer
of USA 14-21, 21-14, 15-10.

The action starts at 9:00 a.m. with Brooke

Cayman Islands-2 in the women’s tournament
and Seth Burhanm and Lucas Wisniakowski of
USA-2 playing against Fabien Whhitfield and

2010 – For second consecutive year the
tournament of Cayman Islands will open the
action of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit
which will expand to a total of 14 stops this
year.
The event will take place in Grand Cayman, the
biggest of the islands, on March 17-22.
